Our Core Principle: Your data is YOUR data. We store your prompts in YOUR Google Drive, and we cannot access your other files.

CloudPrompt ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how CloudPrompt handles your data when you use our Chrome extension.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
Prompt Content: The AI prompts you create and save
Titles & Tags: Organizational metadata you add to prompts
Categories: Folder names and categories you create
Usage Statistics: Local count of how many times you use each prompt
2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
We do NOT collect any personal information
We do NOT track your browsing history
We do NOT use cookies or analytics
We do NOT send your data to our servers (we don't have servers)
We do NOT share your data with third parties
We do NOT use your data for advertising
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Google Drive Storage
Your prompts are stored in a file called CloudPrompt/prompts.json in YOUR Google Drive
We ONLY access files that CloudPrompt creates
We CANNOT see or access your other Google Drive files
You own 100% of your data
3.2 Local Storage
We cache your prompts locally in Chrome's storage for faster loading
This data stays on your device
No data is transmitted to external servers
3.3 Google OAuth Authentication
We use Google's OAuth 2.0 to connect to your Google Drive
We request minimal permissions: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file
This scope ONLY allows access to files created by CloudPrompt
You can revoke access at any time in Google Account settings
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Where Your Data is Stored
Google Drive: Your prompts are saved in your personal Google Drive
Local Chrome Storage: Cached copy for offline access and performance
No External Servers: We do not operate any servers or databases
4.2 Security Measures
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Google Drive provides enterprise-grade encryption at rest
OAuth tokens are stored securely in Chrome's encrypted storage
We never store your Google password
5. Data Retention & Deletion
5.1 How Long We Keep Your Data
Your prompts remain in your Google Drive until YOU delete them
Local cache is cleared when you uninstall the extension
No data is retained by us (we have no servers)
5.2 How to Delete Your Data
You can delete your data at any time:
Delete individual prompts: Use the delete button in the extension
Delete all data: Uninstall the extension and delete CloudPrompt/prompts.json from your Google Drive
Disconnect Google Drive: Go to Settings → Disconnect Google Drive
We do NOT share your data with Google beyond what's necessary for storage
6.2 No Other Third Parties
We do NOT use analytics services (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels)
We do NOT use advertising networks
We do NOT integrate with any other third-party services
7. Children's Privacy
CloudPrompt does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this extension. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with information, we will delete it immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored in your Google Drive, which may be located in various countries depending on your Google account settings. Google complies with international data transfer regulations including GDPR.
9. Your Privacy Rights
9.1 Rights Under GDPR (EU Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
Access: View all data we store (it's in your Google Drive)
Rectification: Edit or correct your prompts at any time
Erasure: Delete your prompts or uninstall the extension
Data Portability: Export your prompts as JSON or CSV
Object: Disconnect Google Drive or uninstall the extension
9.2 Rights Under CCPA (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
Know what data we collect (listed in Section 2)
Delete your data (see Section 5.2)
Opt-out of data sales (we don't sell data)

CloudPrompt requests the following Chrome permissions:

Why: Save your preferences and cache prompts locally
What we access: Extension settings, cached prompts
What we DON'T access: Browsing history, passwords, other extensions' data

Why: Authenticate with Google Drive via OAuth
What we access: OAuth token to access Google Drive
What we DON'T access: Your Google password, other Google services

Why: Communicate with Google Drive API
What we access: Files CloudPrompt creates in your Drive
What we DON'T access: Your other Google Drive files
10.4 Host Permissions (All Websites)
Why: Allow keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y) to work on any webpage
What we access: Inject modal overlay when you press the shortcut
What we DON'T access: Page content, form data, browsing history
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of CloudPrompt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
